About Clarise

Hi, I’m Clarise Hicks — a multitalented creative with a lifelong love for the arts and a heart for service. My journey began before I could even speak — at just 9 months old, I was already humming melodies. Since then, music, creativity, and storytelling have become the threads that tie every chapter of my life together.

I wear many hats: photographer, videographer, graphic designer, singer, songwriter, spoken word artist, DJ/KJ (karaoke host), and event curator/manager. I live for vibrant expression — my aesthetic leans into bold, joyful colors like rose gold, pinks, oranges, lush greens, and teal — colors that mirror my personality and the vibrance I aim to bring to everything I create.

My musical roots run deep. As a child, I sang in the Sunbeam Choir and later played violin and cello, eventually ranking as the top cello student from my region — moving from last chair to fourth chair through sheer determination, prayer, and my gift of playing by ear. I’ve performed in local pageants, nonprofit events, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and I’ve been songwriting since I was young — a gift passed down from my grandmother, Rebecca.

In 2008, I released my first album, Free Prophetic Worship, a collection of spirit-led Christian worship songs. Tracks like “Is It The Way” and “To See You” climbed to #1 on local internet radio charts. Music remains a sanctuary for me — a place where faith and creativity intertwine.

Over the years, I’ve founded four businesses rooted in entertainment, hospitality, and event production. My entrepreneurial journey began with photography, and expanded to include event hosting, DJ/KJ services, and curated entertainment experiences. In 2019, I launched Psalms In Service, a faith-based platform designed to uplift entertainers and entrepreneurs through wholesome content, event curation and management, digital media, and talent development.

Now based in Newport News, VA (formerly Lynchburg), I continue to give back by collaborating with local nonprofits and creating events that inspire, heal, and empower. My mission is simple: to use my gifts to serve others, build community, and glorify God through creativity.
